Stiletto Sisters News...

What a magnificent, scrumptious blackforest cake we had at our CD LAUNCH!!!  We hope you all got to have some, and some kugelhopf too!!  The highlight of the evening was when our guest Chef "Atilla" brought out the blackforest cake.  Thank you to everyone for coming and helping to make it such a special night.  If you missed out on getting a CD, you can now get it online from KARGO music HERE.

"Hidden faces of the Archibald" - Earlier this year artist Andrew Sibley painted the Stiletto Sisters for the Archibald Prize.  The painting missed the official selection but it will be on show in the only Melbourne exhibition for Archibald entrants at the Park Hyatt Hotel from the 18th June to 6th July.  Come see this beautiful portrait and vote for it in the people's choice awards.  More info:

SOLD OUT SURREY MUSIC CAFE CONCERT!!!!!  We had some great dancers in our dancing competition and enjoyed playing some new tunes for everyone... stayed tuned for the CD launch.....!!

Yes, yes, been working hard on finishing our new CD, whilst doing a cry baby concert, a couple of radio broadcasts, a gig at Yarra Blue, a lovely concert at the Hungarian Bocskai centre.... AND of course our two residencies!  BUT.... for all those waiting with baited breath for the new CD, the good news is that it is at the manufacturers being pressed as we speak!!!!!  Details of the CD launch in July will be posted here soon.

NEW TRIO RESIDENCY!!!  Now no-one will be stuck for something to do on a Sunday night.  We'll be playing at "After the Tears" Polish Restaurant in Elsternwick starting 7:30pm every Sunday.  9 Gordon st, Elsternwick, part of the Classic cinema building.

Getting straight back into it - we have had two performances already, one at the Frankston waterfront, our very first gig for the year.  We had some terrific weather which was perfect for showing off our new aprons!  The second gig was our cry baby gig at the Fitzroy town hall and that was very well attended by lots of cute kids dancing and clapping!

We now have a facebook page!!  If you have a facebook account, you can now "become a fan" online and keep up to date with all our events and news through facebook and also have access to extra photos and downloadable mp3s (mp3s coming soon)!  Just search for Stiletto Sisters once you are logged in.

WE'RE BACK!!  Hello and happy you new to you all!  Lots of exciting gigs lined up already this year including Brunswick music festival, Surrey Music Cafe, Melbourne food and wine festival, Moomba... and of course our CD will be coming out too!!  Hope you can make it to our first gig this year, details on the gig guide page.

THAT'S IT!! Another year has flown by and we have thoroughly enjoyed every single performance this year. THANK YOU everyone for coming to see us play - it really means a lot to us to be able to share this wonderful music with so many people. We look forward to playing lots more next year when we will be launching our long-long awaited second CD - yes it's finally coming! See you in 2008, with best wishes from Hope, Judy and Jo xxx

We performed our first two shows back with Hope last weekend and what a great time we had!!!  The concert at Albert Park was beautiful - we played to an enthusiastic crowd made up of seasoned fans and also newbies as the sun set over the lake.  On the Sunday we had some fantastic weather for our concert at Paramoor Farm Winery - a very intimate concert in that cute little barn.  Photos coming soon!!!

We are looking forward to Hope's return to the stage, our first concert back as the three Stiletto Sisters will be at Albert Park Yacht club. Check the gig guide for details and hope to see you all there!!

"Dr Plonk" - Rolf de Heer's new silent film (starring Magda Szubanski) featuring the Stiletto Sisters playing the soundtrack comes out in cinemas this week!!  We are very excited about being able to see it on the big screen.

We had a fantastic time in Canberra where we played at the opening of the new ARC cinema at the National Film and Sound Archive.  "Dr Plonk" was the first film to be screened in the new cinema and we performed the soundtrack live to the film.  For more information on the film, visit www.drplonk.com

We enjoyed our concert at Monash civic centre - packed house!  Sorry to those people that didn't make it in because it was so full, hope to see you at our next gig.  Special thanks to Suzanne Simpson who did a wonderful job on violin and vocals.

IT'S A GIRL!!  Hope gave birth to a gorgeous little girl - April Angeline Rose - on 28th April.  All well with mum and bub, photos coming!!  You can leave Hope a message in our Guestbook which can be accessed on our home page.

WOW.  What an experience we've had. At the world premiere of Rolf de Heer's new film "Dr. Plonk" we played the soundtrack live to the film on the closing night of the Adelaide film festival.  We'll post some photos soon of the big night, it was a lot of hard work but also very exciting!!!  Next on the agenda for the sisters is our new CD, we will be working hard on that over the next few months.

Hi everyone we're back from holidays and what a mad couple of weeks we've had already.  We've been working very hard.... recording a new film score!!!!  We'll be playing at the world premiere of the film in Adelaide on the 4th March, more on that later!  Hope will be officially on maternity leave after the film premiere so we'll be having some exciting new violinists play with the sisters over the next few months - including the beautiful Andrea Keeble, the fantastic Hungarian violinist Atilla and SUEperstar Sue Simpson!!!  Check out the gig guide for details.

Wow, another year has gone already but what wonderful adventures we've had!  We've enjoyed many memorable gigs over the last year.  Thank you to each and every one of you who came to see us perform, we hope you enjoyed our shows as much as we enjoyed playing for you!!  Lots of exciting stuff happening next year, a filmscore, new CD and new baby!!  (Yes, Hope is expecting her second child due in April!!)  We are having a little holiday over Jan so we'll keep you posted on what we'll be up to later on (keep checking the site!!)  We wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season, take care and hope to see you all soon.  XXX

Our gigs over the past few weeks have been lovely, we helped raise $16,000 at the Benefit for St Vincent's at the Spiegeltent, and our gig at Yarra Blue restaurant was lots of fun.  It's our last BVT gig for the year this Wednesday, hope to see everyone there!!!

It was lovely to see so many familiar faces in the audience at the Spiegeltent on Sunday - it was like playing to a group of old friends!!!  We made some new friends too, hope to see you all soon.

Another sell out concert!!  Thank you to Kingston Arts Centre for having us, we had a great night with the lively audience - although the gig was not without its crackles!!?

On the road again... to Port Fairy this time!  Our second appearance at this most beautiful of festivals - "The Port Fairy Spring Music Festival" was again sold out and was even better than last year's!!  The next time you can catch us will be on the radio - also coming up is our long-awaited return to the Spiegeltent!  Check the gig guide for details.

We've already played couple of very nice concerts since being back in Melbourne - one at St Michael's in the city which was a beautiful and quiet acoustic space and one at the Northcote Town Hall which was not so quiet!!

WE'RE HOME!!  We enjoyed our last three gigs of the tour.... we remember fondly the jubes from the lolly shop in Marysville, the yummy cakes in Ruffy and the wood fired pizza in Wodonga!!!  We'd like to say a HUGE "THANK YOU" to Mary for organising the tour - we are exhausted but we loved it!!

Just got back from our second part of the tour - Upwey, Orbost, Swifts Creek and Horsham.... we are having an absolute ball - stayed at some really gorgeous places and have met lots of lovely people.  New photos from our tour will be on the site soon!!

Our first leg of the tour is over - Yarram, Mirboo Nth and Tyers.... we enjoyed seeing the beautiful countryside - and had a few funny gig moments too, like not being able to find how to get on to the stage in Yarram, and Judy announcing that father's day was in October at our concert in Mirboo Nth (her dad just happened to be at that concert too!!!).  We're very much looking forward to seeing what'll happen this weekend!

Our Albert Park Yacht club gig last night was full of laughter, fun and some very special moments... we even got a standing ovation at the end!!!  Some highlights of the night were Jo's Fox and the Bear and La Vie en Rose as the encore... it was just a beautiful way to finish the night.

Thanks to everyone's contributions to our "Your Photos" page - it's looking great!  Check it out here.  Send photos to: photos@stilettosisters.com

We had a great time at the SOLD OUT Surrey Music Concert!!!  Special thanks to Jeffrey and the team for all your hard work in organising these events and also for bringing the vodka!!  (nice hat) ;)

Lots of kids dancing at our fourth annual concert at the beautiful great hall at Goona Warra winery - how cute!!  We also got a chance to premiere some new works at this concert which was very exciting for us.  Thanks to John and Elizabeth for inviting us back again, for the wonderful food and of course for the fabulous wine!!

We'd like to thank the Melbourne Chorus of Sweet Adelines for having us at the Robert Blackwood Hall on Saturday, we had a ball.  Anytime you want us back - whether it be in Chicago, Las Vegas - whereever - we'll be there! ;)

We think everyone would agree that the Eltham World Harmonies concert last Fri night was very special indeed.  It was completely packed at St Margaret's hall with 150 marvellous people (and a dog!) - it was a record attendance for the series so thank you!!!

Wow, what a mad couple of weeks with two concerts and two radio shows but we've had some memorable performances.  Thank you to all who came to our "Arden Crescent" concert - it was great playing for you and having a nice chat and cup of tea with you all afterwards!!

Stiletto Sisters have been busy here and there, we had a lot of fun on the live to air radio show on 774 with Derek Guille on Monday night.  We also had a lovely time again at the Boite World Music Cafe last Saturday, very nice to make some new friends.  We will be "appearing" on the radio again this weekend - so listen out for us Sat 27th May 6pm on 3MBS 103.5FM!

Thanks to all those who came to see us play at the Surrey Hills Festival last Saturday, it was a little cold but we had fun anyway!  We even managed to pick up a few new aprons!  So you might see us showing them off at our next few gigs....

Our trip to Mildura went off without a hitch... NOT!!!  Apart from not knowing whether we were actually able to fit the double bass on the tiny plane to running late for the plane to Jo's bag going missing therefore starting the concert late - everything went smoothly!!  We actually really enjoyed the concert in the end, playing to the packed crowd in the nice upstairs section of the brewery.  Thanks for having us, Mildura, we'd love to come back again!!

All new "YOUR PHOTOS" page is now online (check it out!)... we'd love to see some more sent in to photos@stilettosisters.com .... c'mon - show us your stuff!!

The sisters are well and truly back into the swing of things now.  We've already played some very nice gigs so far this year, (esp. the one at Hamer Hall!) and it's business as usual at BVT every Wednesday night.  Got some exciting concerts lined up for the rest of the year, so stay tuned for info on those!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!  We're looking forward to another big year of music, laughs and good times!!  Thank you to you all for coming to see us play in the past year, we really appreciate your support and have enjoyed playing for you so much!!!  Wishing everybody a safe and happy holiday season from the Stiletto Sisters - Hope, Judy and Jo.

Our "Silly Season" concert at the Czech Club was such a great way to finish the year off!!!!  There were candles and crackers, dancing competitions and our best audience participation ever - the entire room enthusiastically clinking their glasses with spoons throughout the last song!!!  We really enjoyed that moment, it made the concert very special for us.

SOLD OUT concert last Friday at the Surrey Hills Music Cafe!!!  We loved the new venue and thoroughly enjoyed playing for the big yet intimate audience.  Thank you for coming and being such a friendly audience!!

Our second gig at the Wyreena Community Arts Centre was just so nice!  With the conservatory filled to capacity it was very cosy indeed - and good to see many of you return from last year's concert too!!

It was very nice to play in Castlemaine again, without the hard hats this time, we might add!!!  We are a bit exhausted from all the travelling we've done lately... but we've had a lot of fun doing it and playing to you all!!

We had a wonderful time at the Port Fairy Spring Music Festival, enjoyed the marvellous weather and the beach and even got to see a show before we left.  Oh yeah and we did a (sold out) concert too!!!  That, of course was the best part!!  Hopefully we will have some photos soon.... :)

Just got back from Lakes Entrance where we did a lovely little concert in the very cute "Bungalook" studio on Josie and Rick's alpaca farm.... we had a great time being in the country, with fabulous country style hospitality (thanks guys!) and  let's not forget those scrumptious home made cakes!!!!!

Our CD is now available in shops all around Australia - click here for details!  Alternatively, come and see us at one of our gigs.
